Michelle is a trained biological oceanographer with a passion for bringing the deep sea to life through sound. Originally from Mexico City, she has spent the past four years studying life on the ocean floor at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and now uses that expertise to craft stories that bridge science, curiosity, and connection.

She is the host and co-producer of Think Deep!, a podcast exploring deep-ocean science and policy. At David Benjamin Sound, Michelle draws on her experience in oceanographic research, communication, and international collaboration to help make science more relatable.

She translates complex topics into rich, human-centered audio that resonates with listeners — whether they’re scientists, policymakers, students, or simply ocean lovers. She’s driven by a deep commitment to ocean conservation and a belief in the power of storytelling to build understanding and inspire action.
